I attended a media literacy series years ago that was excellent and I would love to work with the Cinematheque and a group of students in the future. I think that understanding media and how we are affected by it is a powerful tool for understanding ourselves and the world around us.

Hello, welcome to my first Padlet!
I created this for my LIBE 477 course at UBC where I have been learning more about digital media. Throughout this course I kept having the same contradictory thoughts: 'digital media is amazing', and 'digital media is problematic'. The technology is exciting and ever changing, but not without a dark side. Digital technology is here to stay. I believe that knowledge is powerful and that with more knowledge, we will be better equipped to use our current and future technologies in ways that are cognizant and supportive of our mental and emotional health. This Padlet is meant to be a collection of resources and information to help in that goal. Enjoy!
