You won't need to worry about large tubs of water dragging you down on your trip. Bamboo stalks like the ones pictured here store TONS of water. There will never be a shortage of these plants, as they can grow at a rate of a whole foot in one day. There are more than 1400 species of bamboo in most rainforests!

Tired of the dull colors of the city? The toucan is one of the most popular birds seen in the rain forest! These birds are not aggressive, as they use their large, colorful bills to eat and reach food, not attack. They eat fruits and small insects. Their bills also help to keep them cool. Their bills are filled with air pockets that expand to let in air.
