Saint Patrick was not actually an Irishman named Patrick (Patrick): Born Maewyn Succat, the Irish patron saint was actually British.

As far as the eye can see, everything is green, the hair, the clothes and even the food. We are not talking about spinach, but about bagels, pancakes, and even beer; If green food coloring can be added, they can be served on St. Patrick's Day. But the colorful fun doesn't end here: rivers, monuments, and even ski resorts have been dyed green to mark the occasion.
Although everyone is wearing green, it seems that Patrick preferred blue and the proof can still be seen in the old Irish flags. During the Irish Rebellion of 1798, wearing the shamrock and the color green became a symbol of nationalism, and is maintained today.

Corned beef with cabbage is a traditional dish that goes very well with beer, even if it is a dish "invented" by Irish immigrants in New York. This could explain why in the United States more than 11700 million kilos of beef and more than 900 million kilos of cabbage are produced on this holiday.

* That the character of Samuel L. Jackson in Snakes on the Plane has anything to do with Saint Patrick is pure speculation. This is my story and I stick to it.
