Is a substance compound by carbon and it has a lot of properties such as: thin, strong, conductive, stretchable, transparent, flexible and impermeable. So, more than 200 universities work on graphene research.
There was one experiment which used a filter of this material to desalinate water. Due to the climatic change and other things, the reserves of water are dwindling. Nowadays, desalination techniques are used but they are very expensive. In order to improve this type of techniques, researchers from the University of Manchester thinks about separating out salt ions with this filter made of graphene.
