Had an amazing winter guard season 4-20-24

My 2024 winterguard season was amazing. Placing in the top 1-3 at every competition felt so good. We worked hard on flags, rifles, and sabres, and it all came together. Every time we performed, we got better and better. Our teamwork made all the difference. We helped each other, cheered each other on, and celebrated even the small wins. Our instructors gave us great tips that kept us focused and made us better. By the end, I felt really proud of what we did. It wasn’t just about the trophies—it was about growing as a team and doing our best. This season was unforgettable.

In 2024, I made some awesome memories with my best friend Liz. We got close in 7th grade and have been best friends ever since. One of my favorite times was on the Fourth of July when we hung out together. We watched the fireworks, laughed a lot, and just had the best time. It felt like a perfect day, and I realized how lucky I am to have such a great friend. We made so many fun memories, and I’ll always remember that day. I´m glad our friendship is so strong. I couldn´t ask for a better best friend

First day at new school 8-7-24

One of the biggest things that happened to me in 2024 was having to move to a different school because of the cyber program. It was really hard because I had to leave a lot of my friends, like my old color guard team and my best friends. At first, it was tough to get used to a new school and be away from everyone I knew. But over time, I got used to it and met new people. I still miss my old friends, but I’m thankful for the memories and everything I’ve learned through this change.

Meeting my special friend 9-12-24

Another big part of my 2024 was meeting my very special friend. He made my year so much better and has made me a lot happier. Since we became friends, everything has felt more lively, and I've enjoyed school so much more. He's someone I can talk to, laugh with, and just be myself around. I'm really glad I came to Magnolia because meeting him has been one of the best parts of my year. He's helped me get more comfortable at a new school and had helped me step out of my comfort zone.

Having a good parade season with my new color guard team 10-19-24

Moving to a new school and leaving my old color guard team made me really sad. I didn’t know what to expect from the new marching season and felt like I wouldn’t enjoy it. But as time went on, I started to see how awesome it was. Our parade season was amazing, and we kept getting 1st to 3rd place in every competition. I also made a lot of new friends, and we all got closer as a team. It turned out to be way better than I expected, and I’m so glad I kept going and did not quit.

Placing 2nd out of 10 schools at championships 4-12-25

At our first competition for winter guard we placed 2nd, from there every other competition we always placed top 3. We went into championships with low hopes and so much doubt because we had never gone against 10 other schools. The whole team worked their butts off during zero period and after school rehearsals to fix all corrections we had gotten. Magnolia color guard had not won a medal at champs in years but we all had a little hope in our hearts that we would, and that's exactly what we did. We gave the best performance of our season and placed second. I wont ever forget how surreal everything felt in that moment.

Going to Las Vegas, Nevada for a color guard competition 5-29-25

Over spring break me and my team went on a 3 day long trip. We went to Las Vegas for the Nevada championships. It was a really tough competition, my coaches said it would help us get a feel of what our champs in California would be like. Although it wasn't our best placement of the seasons it helped us understand exactly how we didn't want to feel on the day of the real competition.

Getting a bunny for my birthday 5-22-25

This year for my birthday I had a really challenging time deciding what I wanted for my birthday. I had all I could have ever asked for. My boyfriend kept asking me what I wanted and I had no clue. Although, I had been sending him TikToks about the same beautiful white bunny with the most precious long ears and bright icy blue eyes. I was not expecting him to actually get me one that looked identical but the one he got me being a baby barely two months old. I was over the moon excited to have gotten my dream pet. I have my amazing boyfriend to thank for giving me more than I could have ever asked for.

Celebrating my 15th birthday 5-25-25

A quinceañera is a Latin American celebration for a girl when she turns 15. The way mom has always explained it to me is that its a celebration of you becoming a young lady, like its a new chapter of your life. Since I was a little girl I dreamed of what my 15 would look like, the dress id choose, the theme, everything about it excited me. The months leading up to my big day were filled with stress and chaos, I knew I wanted to go all out because it was a once in a lifetime experience. My mom worked so hard so shed be able to make my dream party a reality. Months later looking back I would not have changed a thing and it was truly all I could have ever asked for.

I got more confident in my color guard abilities July-November 2025

Confidence is something I have always struggled with. It didnt matter if it was in my sport, looks, or my academic abilities. This year I was able to grow more confident in color guard. Ive doubted myself since I started two years ago, I constantly compared myself to others on my team. I did not think what people would say about me being ¨good¨ at color guard for being only a freshman/sophmore was true. I have learned to have a different mindset but still believe that I can improve so much. Now I know that I shouldnt be so hard on myself because I am just a sophmore and I still have so much to learn.
