In 1816 the American Colonization society  was established  by Robert Finley to help free the enslaved. His organization was aimed to to encourage others to see how slavery was wrong and had to put to an end.

On January 1,1963 he signed the Emancipation Declaration. This war was fought men who fled their enlavers to join the fight the war and as well as free africans.
