Idea # 1- Color Documentary (keywords: Building, details, architecture, urban, lights, ugly, texture, old, abstract).
For a color documentary, I would start from scratch. My plan would be to pick a historical landmark or a visual landmark in San Diego or the surrounding area. I would try and follow a list of criteria that I use when I shoot these types of projects for example it has buildings, graffiti, close up, birds’ eye, slow shutter, etc.
I looked briefly for other links for something that I have in mind and haven’t found anything yet however on the first assignment I attached the photos for the Santa Fe station so you can see what I have in mind.
My envision is the showcase of something tide to San Diego historically or a visual landmark that is “classic San Diego’’. I would want to do this project because I learn something about my city and I get to share it with an audience.
   
Idea#2- Black and white Photojournalism (Keywords: Tension, protesters, riot, anger, American, Political, cars, flags, police, covid-19).
For this, I would shoot a ‘’Recall Newsom’’ protest they have going on at the Pacific Beach boardwalk every weekend. This small protest is generally pro-Trump so it brings out counter-protester and has been going on every Saturday for over a month now. There is a large Police presence even though it has been peaceful on both sides since the beginning. With this project, I could capture a lot of things including, Tension. Riot. Politics. Protesters. Police. Anger. American. Covid-19.
This would be a new idea that I’ve had in mind since this Recall Newsom movement started coming to Pacific Beach. The lighting is good because it's in the afternoon with an abundance of natural lighting. I like this idea because with all the political frustrations going on in America, it's an opportunity to show real emotions and feelings.
       
Idea #3- Color Landscape (keywords: nature, trees, birds, wildlife, water, sun, road, rock, old building, art).
For this project, I don’t believe I have the opportunity to go to a National Park with Covid-19. I want to showcase nature and beach landscapes at our beautiful San Diego beaches. I would want to get some sunsets, sunrises, waves, and scenery.
I would use natural lighting throughout the day and maybe some slower exposure in the early evening and at night. I think Blacks beach would be a great place for this because of the cliffs, ocean and also the glider port.
