At first we were losing but then something happen it flipped around. At first the south was winning and then we started to beat the south. At least their won't be slavery anymore and they would be free for the first time in a long time. I know that many families would be sad to hear about what happen to their love one. If you would give this letter to my family for them to read it please. This goes to my family, I love you guys even though i'm not with you i love you all with all my heart. I will tell you everything about it. The battle was the most disgusting thing that I have ever seen because while we would fight their were dead bodies everywhere.
