"Committed" by Beth Cavener
This sculpture shows two animals chained together, gently resting on each other and looking down in a helpless manner. It represents dependent relationships and that they need each other to carry on. The chain represents the permanent dedication they have towards each other, and that they both may feel stuck in this cycle of codependency.

The emotion of the child is prominent in its face even though it is an animal. You can feel that it is frightened and terrified.

"Dear" By Sun Yuan and Peng Yu
This art piece can be interpreted in many ways but one interpretation is that it shows an abusive relationship. In the center is a comfy chair but that comfort is fully unattainable due to the whip in the center. The glass surrounding can also cause the pain the abusive relationship inflicts, as the whip has left slashes in the glass surrounding this piece.

These self portraits by Utermohlen show the progression of his Alzheimer's over time and how his own face becomes unrecognizable to himself. The progression of Alzheimer's is slow yet unavoidable and once he began to document his own self portraits when diagnosed it carried on for around 4 years. The last self portrait is haunting, the only recognizable features that allude to it being a drawing of something human include only the facial shape and two black holes that represent eyes.

This painting has nothing negative in it and overall seems lighthearted. The artist behind this painting though was known for painting cats that were once regular and cute like this but he developed schizophrenia. His slow deterioration over time due to his schizophrenia getting worse can be seen in his paintings such as the ones connected to these. They became more vibrant and psychedelic looking as time went on.

the "Two-Headed Calf" is a rather self explanatory poem. It's about a two headed calf born in a field at night and spends its only night alive alone with it's mother. Its life will only last roughly a day once they're taken away so all they know life as is this one night alive underneath the stars. A kind of peace that is only temporary.
