We already have a couple ISPs that provide internet through satellites but nothing on this scale. The problem I see with this Idea is the huge cost that it will bring. It will cost SpaceX millions of dollars to launch all 12,000 satellites into orbit. In order to make up for this, SpaceX will probably have to charge a large amount in order to make a profit. On top of that having only one ISP to rule the entire internet would create a monopoly and would also run other ISPs out of the market.
    I think that as far as privatizing of space exploration goes it is a great idea. I think that if the government has the funding to explore space that they should, and if private companies want to explore space that they can to.
