Many parts in this movie highlight the difference between understanding and knowledge. While Shelby and Miles are trying to build a race car to win Le Mans, they experience an abundance of resistance from the executives at Ford, particularly Beebe who headed the racing program for Ford. Shelby and Beebe butt heads so much because of Beebe’s lack of understanding of making a good race car.]]> 2020-03-27 12:12:05 UTC https://padlet.com/forbis_ellie24/whnul8thiiaa/wish/478235609 forbis_ellie24 https://padlet.com/forbis_ellie24/whnul8thiiaa/wish/478236910 Additionally, Henry Ford II wanted to follow Beebe’s advice and replace Miles with a different driver at Le Mans, simply because Henry Ford II believed he understood what driving a racecar entailed.  He quickly changed his mind, however, when Shelby took him on a drive in a racecar and Henry Ford II nearly peed himself.  This made him realize that not just anyone with knowledge of how to drive a racecar can do it well, the racecar driver has to understand the car they are driving and what its limits are.
