The author is trying to keep a man convicted of a terrible crime from getting the death penalty, while at the same time having flashbacks to traumatic events that happened to her in her childhood. But you can't help but fall in love with Trix, the street tough main character, whose life is upended when she goes to live with relatives she never knew existed in a magical small town. This was a great book to read during our vacation week.</div>]]></description>
