Unit 7 is about identifying literary elements of a story and how textual clues relate to one another. The reader must know how to distinguish and identify how the characters, settings, symbols, imagery, and more, correlate. 

Unit 8 is about how to read a poem, how to interpret the poem, explore languages and devices in the poem including structure, contrast, specific word, and metaphor. Finally, the main purpose is to understand the poem.
