I learned during the couse about different ways to improve resilience for example by being present in the moment, outside in nature and to care about yourself. Resilience is about the relation to yourself and also the relationship with other people. It's imprtant to take time for yourself and think about your needs and how you can learn also from past experiences. I trained to be grateful for the little things, the wounderful environment and my health. Furthermore I had a closer look into my values and which aspects are drivers in my life. My favourite experience was the boat tour yesterday because it was a very special way to experience the sea, the unique mangroves, see the fish while snorkeling and charge up your personal "battery".

I learned several aspects how to live a balanced life filled with health, happiness and resilience. For this way of life it is important to have clear your own values. So I looked again on my values at this state of life and on my wheel of life, which is very important to look at in addition. I experienced many of happy moments in the wonderful nature of Guadeloupe and I got to know to wonderful inhabitants of Guadeloupe. These persons were different in their personality but all lovable. In addition I got an impression of important things and habits of the original inhabitants of this island, especially the way of expressing themselves, their thoughts and feelings by music, paintings and dancing. I am thankful for all the experiences I had during these days in Guadeloupe.

In this course I learned how important it is to look after yourself and that there are several means to achieve that. I already knew my important values, but it was interesting to choose 87 values first and then reduce them to the three most important ones. I will try not to forget them in the stressfull every day life.

I already knew that mindfulness is an important skill, but it is not easy to realize it every day. During the course I learned that it is possible to be mindful almost everywhere: Being in nature makes it easy to be mindful. You do not need much. You only need your senses. I experienced this in the jungle of Guadeloupe. At home I can practise this every day when I go for a walk with my dog. Being in nature also meant being in the water. The warm and unbelievable blue water I swam in, together with the blue sky touched my mind and made me calm and content.

Another skill I got to know was using music as a therapy. I am not very musical but in the course I succeded in making music together with the other participants and it was a lot of fun and made me a little bit proud - as well as producing little baskets. At first I didn't believe that I would be able to do that but with a little bit help it was possible: Simply don't think too much whether you can do something or not. Just do it and in the end you will have success- with help or without. The course clearly showed me that mindfulness is not just a word. You have to live it every day and only very small things or actions are necessary on the way to a mindful life.

This course was about well-beeing and mindfulness for teachers, experiences, tools and methods of stress managenent or resilience. I already knew a little bit about this topic. But it is necessary to reflect or repeat it, keep things in mind and even learn more about it.

So what I learned most was to take the time you need for "everything" and be mindful. In the future I will try to put small activities in my daily life.

First, I think, you have to know yourself: your needs or values (ex. the list of values).

There are a lot of possibilities, methods and ways to handle them, to calm down and relax, to find yourself or to be mindful. We learned about this in a mixture of theoretical input, practical exercises and selfreflection at amazing places.

Here are only some exampels of our topics: We produced baskets, played the drums, took a bath in the forest, created mandalas, felt the power of water or watched artistic expressions.

The most impressiv thing for me was the "cultural centre" in Point-à-Pitre. You really feel the pain and the power of people! Painting is a very expressiv and intense way to handle emotions and values. And at the same time while painting the painter can work with his thoughts, order them, find solutions, get rid of bad emotions or calm down. So, even if I'm not that creative and good, I will try this at home.
