The rights allowing certain people to vote were a large debate. In the past, women and slaves were not allowed to vote. It took a very long time for this to be changed, as tis was a highly debated topic.

These things took very long to change due to discrimination towards both women and slaves. They were seen as lesser, and were not treated as well as others.

The decision of letting certain groups people vote was in large discussion. Women, and slaves were not allowed to vote until it became a huge debate. After many years of not letting certain people vote, they finally decided to change that.

I would say giving groups of people more rights. Most importantly the right to vote. This included previously enslaved people, as well as indigenous people, and women. They seems to want to extend this freedom to other people, even after they had been denied the right for way to long.

I feel like it was trying to get everyone equal and have the same rights. And for everyone regarding whether or not they were previously a slave or if they're a woman to be able to have a say on elections and stuff like that

I feel like it took a while to change because I guess maybe they didn't see it at first but later on they did and they realized that this segregation and slavery and discrimination and all that is wrong(and also the process of being able to make it an amendment with all the approvals and stuff like that)

it takes many steps for it to go through with the government and radicate it, also some people may not make the best choices.

Giving certain groups of people rights, often times equality was overlooked such as not giving people of color the right to vote or women.

I think it took a while because lots of people most likely thought it didn't need to change since discrimination towards certain groups was "normal" at the time..? So it never became a topic of huge discussion.

This may have taken way too long because many people still did not agree to make these changes in our nation. There was defiantly, and still is a lot of disunity in the nation and in the government. The conflicting opinions would make it hard to accomplish a lot of things.

It allowed anyone to vote ( who were adults) what I mean by this is they broke the rule of woman no longer being able to vote and different races not being a vote along with slaves.

The rights that abolish slavery and consider those born in the US citizens, and the rights for slaves and women to vote.

I think that people didn't want anything to change and also the fact that changing an amendment is a hard task to do and woman and enslaved people couldn't vote and they needed majority vote to change something and when the majority doesn't want it to change it probably won't.

I think that things have taken so long to change because people haven't understood each others perspective throughout history and once changes were made people finally understood the perspectives of others even on a small scale

most of these problems just took way too long because of some specific race and that's a bad thing, because race shouldn't define a person a person should Define their self with their own words. (respectively)

I feel like humans have had a difficult time seeing from other peoples perspectives which caused them to treat other people that were different from them like they were on a lower level.
