The Bretton Woods Conference, held in New Hampshire established both the IMF (regulating exchange rates and currency) and the IBRD (giving financial aid to poverty-stricken countries). It lead to a hunger for power through the mass worldwide want to create an atomic bomb. The atomic bomb was created by the Manhattan Project, both America and Britain, as a major war weapon and it was used very negatively in the world. With other countries scrambling to gain the same power and influence through a weapon of mass destruction such as the nuke. Furthermore, political ideologies clashed leading to proxy wars and many deaths. An example of this was the Vietnam War, between Russia China, and the US. The ideology clash is what involved people in a war that was unnecessary. Events such as the creation of the United Nations were not centralized with American power, but rather they had global interests. The Bretton Woods and the UN conference support a global union, rather than consolidating power and influence solely to the United States. The Yalta Conference, while attempting to support American influence, was criticized within the American society due to the fact that Stalin overrode the promises given at the conference and increased his power and influence by establishing communist governments throughout Eastern Europe. The Yalta Conference failed to achieve the main outcome that was between German Zones of occupation and having free elections. It resulted in worse relationships and greater American apathy. It also didn't support eastern block countries after the War.  Another example is the United Nations Conference.
