This video helps to explain Market Segmentation as a whole. The intent of the video is to demonstrate how one particular product, such as Ketchup, can have it's consumers broken down into particular market segments. What I liked about the video is how the simple animation style helps to show how a single population can almost always be divided into a larger segment of the population. He uses clear separations in the video such as price, flavor, and brand name to separate consumers in the video which helps the audience understand the basics of market segmentation.

The purpose of this particular video is to show demographic segmentation and how it is used by producers to segment their markets. I think that what this video does well is show the audience that simple separations such as age, gender and education can be an incredibly useful way for company's to divide their consumer base. The video helps to explain that not all products will be as applicable to all consumers. So as a way for producer to more effectively sell products markets are divided into demographic segments in order to provide a more direct consumer experience and get people the products that they actually need.

While this video is short I believe it provides a clear understanding to the audience as to why geographic segmentation is important when marketing a product. As the woman in the video explains, geographic segmentation helps to further narrow a market and get consumer what they actually want. The example used in the video relates to the marketing of coats and bathing suits in particular climates. She explains that Bathing suits would not sell well in areas where the climate is colder, whereas coats and jackets would sell much better in theses regions.

This video helps to demonstrate the distinctions between behavioral and psychographic segmentation. The creator does an excellent job at differentiating these styles of segmentation. On the surface there seem to be many similarities between the two. I think what she does well in this video is to explain how Behavioral segmentation relates to how marketers talk about their product to consumers based on the behavior of the consumer. This is separate form psychographic because that segments the market based on consumer trends and interests.

The intent behind this video is to provide a basic understanding of how the marketer targets a particular consumer base using psychographics. What the video does well is to explain how psychographics help to narrow a consumer base based on their attitudes and the different ways that different people are motivated. This particular segmentation in marketing is often the most difficult to break down yet this video helps to provide a clear and concise explanation of how it helps to segment a population.

Undifferentiated marketing is a strategy that targets a market as a whole while disregarding market segments. This creator helps to explain the principles behind undifferentiated marketing and why many firms chose to use it to target consumers. In the video he explains that often times there is a cost perspective used by a company when using undifferentiated marketing, when using this form of targeting the company utilizes less resources by providing the same message to all consumers. this can often work well for products that are applicable to a large number of market segemnts.

This video provides a short concise explanation of how differentiated marketing is used by company to target large segments of consumers. The man in the video explains that often there is not a one size fits all way of marketing to a consumer base. For this reason many company's use differentiated marketing strategy's to hone in their products on certain market segments. This often means appealing to those market segments through ad campaigns that focus on what specific segments are looking for.

In the video the teacher breaks down Niche marketing strategy's and how they differentiate from the previous strategies covered.

This video explains the relatively new form of market targeting which is called micro marketing. This form of targeting requires businesses to focus on highly focused groups of consumers. Typically this form of targeting calls for a particular business to hone its consumer base down to small segments based on nearly all forms of market segmentation. The principle behind micro marketing is to provide products to a very specific market segment.

This video also covers micromarketing. The video uses graphics that I found pretty helpful to understanding the concept as a whole. In particular the teacher in the video uses a graphic of a large crowd of people. He explains that the general concept behind micromarketing is that rather than targeting a group of 6 in the crowd, micro marketing focuses on a single consumer. This idea helps to build both consumer relations and to grow the business in various market segments.
