There are many reasons why people feel anxious. According to many studies, anxiety takes the same place as many diseases in its severity. I have decided to write about it as the number of people suffering from anxiety in Kuwait, has increased recently, especially during the lock down of COVID-19. Therefore, the first reason for anxiety is the feeling of lack of freedom. People in Kuwait are used to going everywhere whenever they like, but they were forced to stay at home for long hours during the pandemic. Next, anxiety is also caused by feeling tensioned. Most of the population in Kuwait are young, people who are mainly students at schools and university who have to attend exams and do other work required by their instructors. Feeling you have to work all the time also leads to anxiety. Finally, many scientists believe that anxiety is also caused by being surrounded by your future goals. Everyone is anxious about the future of their life in a world full of wars and pandemics.

Anxiety is major mental health problem that can be solved through many approaches. First, to deal with anxiety properly, people must write their thoughts down. When a person writes down the thoughts and ideas that he or she is anxious about, their brain slows down. Once the brain slows down, the person can begin to feel calm and less anxious. Second, anxiety can be solved with a routine. Anxiety comes when a person feels like he or she has no control over their lives. If they have a good routine, anxiety can go away because they are busy with their present life. For example, someone who has a routine of organizing and cleaning will be too busy to worry and have anxious thoughts. Thirdly, anxiety can be solved by talking to friends. Anxiety can come from thoughts that make no sense and have no structure. Talking to a friend can make a person realize that their thoughts do not make any sense once they say the thoughts out loud. However, when the thoughts stay in a person’s mind, they get out of control. All in all, as big and tiring as anxiety is, it can be solved through simple daily actions.

This is my story when I overcame anxiety. When I was nine years old, I started to have symptoms of anxiety.I avoided sitting with family and friends and also avoided trying anything new.Whenever I wanted to do anything, I felt like I was going to die and I got scared. In 2019, I reached the extremes of anxiety, and I was imagining many things that would not and could not happen. At the time, my aunt offered me help, and I accepted her help, so we went to cognitive behavioural therapy, and I was on medication too. After several sessions, she was 90% improved. I am now able to speak to everyone without hesitation and fear. Also, I've gone out and tried everything without fear. The only thing that helped me transition to a normal life was to visit the psychiatrist, because when you visit the psychiatrist, you acknowledge that you have a problem and that's half the solution.
