He was born February 12,1809 in a log cabin in Hardin county ,Kentucky. He was married to Mary Todd Lincoln they got married in November 4, 1842 and had four kids; Robert, Edward , William and Tomas but only Robert lived till adulthood. Abraham was known for his tall structure being 6’4. He had a passion for reading and learning. He had a reputation for being honest and was born into a humble family. He worked as a rail-splitter, lawyer and Illinois state legislator.

He was elected president in March 4, 1861 until April 15,1865. He was a civil war leader for his country. He issued an emaciation proclamation in 1863 which declared all slaves in confederate state territory to be free. One if his most famous speeches was the Gettysburg address that was delivered in November 1863 at the dedication of the soldiers’ national cemetery he emphasized the principles of human equality and national unity.

Sadly Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth on April 14, 1865, while attending a play at Ford's Theatre in Washington, D.C. Booth shot Lincoln in the head, then fled the scene. Lincoln died the next day. Booth was tracked down and killed 12 days later.
