We let them speak to each other a lot!!! We provide and celebrate texts written in Spanish and in English. We give them opportunities to do book reports on texts in Spanish and texts in English as well. We allow them ample time to read in class. To bring in the bicultural piece, we allow students to celebrate their own culture as well as learn about others cultures. If you use it, they will learn it and repeat it!
