You have to deal with drunken assholes trying to get free drinks and shouting abuse. I have worked a lot of different nights and functions including party on the pitch, all of which haven't been exactly perfect. When i first got the job, I wasn't trained that well. I was trained on how to slice a lemon and lime and how to work the tills, the rest i had to teach myself, this was mainly because my manager at the time believed in trial by fire. I didn't like my manager. He was depressing and didnt care about the bar. he also drank on the job which didnt help with anything. There was also no communication with the staff because we all didnt want to be there. dealing with drunk customers isn't fun because they go out of their way to critize you and shout insults but after a while you learn to block them out and focus on doing your job. I waited until a gained enough experience from this job and as soon as an opportunity where I could go and work in a different place arised I took it because I hated working there. Now I am currently working in a spar. I don't love this job but I don't mind it. I still have a manager who doesn't know how to keep their employees happy but I can live with that as long as I get paid to do so.
