HHD is probably the reason why I want to be a teacher. Helping my son choose his subjects, I got very excited with the course structure and work in the subject and loved every bit of it. I started to read all about it and thought I would put this passion into reality. I have always wanted to teach, and what better subject than to focus on than to help the youth shape and make decisions about health and lifestyle changes that can impact them for life.

My background in nursing deeply informs my connection to Health and Human Development. Having worked closely with individuals across diverse life stages and health journeys, I’ve witnessed firsthand the significance of informed decision-making, prevention, and advocacy. HHD offers an opportunity to translate clinical knowledge into empowering education. I am ready for a career change, and I believe there's no better way to make a positive impact than by helping the youth of today. With my long career as a nurse and my passion for health, I am well-positioned to make a meaningful difference. I am fortunate to work in a job I love. I have just found a passion elsewhere, which is teaching.

I did not study HHD, but I always regret it and feel that this is my opportunity to learn about the subject, especially with my prior knowledge as a nurse. I am so excited to learn and consolidate lots of skills and knowledge. I have a massive passion for health and the healthcare systems, health promotion, and prevention of ill health. I love the nutrition side of things, but I'm looking forward to learning about everything.
