I do not have access to a printer so I wrote mine out on a sheet of paper. I listed Gamze as intermediate. I wanted to put her at upper intermediate because of her ability to describe things well but there were many minor gramatical errors that I think she could learn more quickly in an intermediate class.

Here’s the Question sheet.
Don’t mind my pic and the hand written form. I am traveling and there’s no computer nor printer around me.
She’s even good with complex sentence structure with (If)conditional pattern. A variety of vocab to describe what she saw and felt like “upset”.
At the same time, there’re some errors like sub-verb agreement, articles.

I went with Elementary, actually would say higher Elementary and lower Intermediate. She could have answered in full sentences more in the picture related answers and could brush up the basics.
Knowing the rest of her language skills would definitely help and could bring her up to a full intermediate level.

Based on her speaking level test I assigned her for level Intermediate. In my opinion she has a very good comprehension and speaks pretty "fluently". The only issue is that she had many grammar mistakes and, because of that, I would have to test her on reading and writing to see which level would be the best to put her on.

In my opinion Elise has a good pronunciation. Some words in her answer about 'why she's so upset I didn't catch though. She's still a bit hassitating. Based on her pronounciation, grammar and vocabulary I would assign her as an intermediate level speaker.

I think Gamze is around an intermediate level learner. She exhibited a wide enough vocabulary to add variety to her answers, however, she did use some phrases repeatedly indicating her range of vocabulary is still growing. She also didn't pause, freeze or repeatedly correct herself.

I think she fits in the intermediate category because she seems comfortable in listening and responding per the detailed Speaking Level Guidelines, even though she has some challenges with grammar and pronunciation. There was one word she used when talking about on-line shopping that I never could figure out, even after listening many times. I need practice in listening to different accents in order to help with pronunciation.

Gamze was way ahead of my speaking Spanish after 8 months. I think she fits in intermediate category and that was my thought after listening thru 1 time. I probably spent way too long listening to recording over and over but auditory is not my strength. There were some words I could not discern but in general she was very understandable and her errors did not block communication. There were no examples of writing or reading but she understood questions. I underlined errors on question sheet.

I selected the level of "Elementary" for Gamze. Her grammatical accuracy was low, I placed it at the beginner level. She seemed to have difficulty conveying her ideas with basic structures. Her pronunciation included frequent mispronunciations. I think she would benefit from working more on verbs and on expressing more simply ideas, clearly, before moving on to a higher level.

I placed her at Elementary level. She had some beginner points, but she also could understand quickly, and express herself with the vocabulary she had. I put her at Elementary though to help work on the mistakes she does make and hopefully to quickly move her to Intermediate.

I think I would use a recorder to help me with this! It's so fast to listen to the answers and pay attention to their English!

I didn’t have access to a printer so I used the notebook I had on hand and referred to the digital forms for a guide.

After listening to Gamze's interview and looking over the speaking level guide, i think an intermediate level course would be the best fit for her. 3 of my 4 boxes were on the intermediate level with only one under the elementary level. She has a very solid english vocabulary allowing her to identify most things and get her point across. I think placing her in the intermediate class would help her bring together all that she already knows but then challenge her with grammar, sentence fluency and pronunciation.

I think that I would place Gamze in the intermediate class. She seems to have high comprehension and a good grasp of the language even though her grammar is not perfect. She seems to know some more advanced concepts like style, happy, and upset.

I would place Gamze at an Intermediate Level. She did well communicating her ideas with little hesitation and "has a wide enough vocabulary to discuss topics at length and make meaning clear in spite of inappropriacies" and "uses a mix of simple and complex structures but with limited flexibility". She was clearly familiar and comfortable with English and beyond basic vocabulary by using the words: 'generally', 'now-a-days' and 'style'.

She seems to have pretty good fluency with some minor grammatical mistakes. Her vocabulary was pretty strong with a few more complex words that she struggled with. She was pretty easily understandable. I would place her as a strong intermediate with her potentially moving to upper intermediate fairly quickly.

I assessd Gamze in the Intermediate level. She is forming more complex sentence structures and can make her thoughts known. I chose Intermediate rather than Upper Intermediate because I saw some errors in more simple sentence structures where I believe a solid fundation with higher success experiences in class won't hurt her learning excitement but rather benefit Gamze more than being in her highest possible level.

Gamze was nearing upper intermediate, but I ended up putting her in an intermediate level. She had great vocabulary use and cognition showing she was able to answer all the questions logically. She struggled with subject/verb agreement, singular/plural uses and misused definite/indefinite articles. I also noticed she mostly spoke in the present/present progressive tense and wasn't as familiar or comfortable using the past tense.

Gamze was very linguistically intelligent using a wide range of vocabulary, especially in regards to transition words and sign posts (generally, clearly, why upset because). However, because of her goal of conversational and academic English acquisition, I believe she would benefit from an intermediate course to continue working on grammatical skills (when nouns receive s's; use of proper idioms - ride a bike), and extended practical vocabulary use (preposition use in particular).

I'm not sure if my forms got uploaded in the right way. On my end i can see just a little part . I guess my comments are almost the same as everyone else but i don't think i would put Gamze in the elementary level so she would feel more comfortable. I think she is very smart and depending on the other students, I think she would learn much faster in the Intermediate level. But I think I would disguss this with her.

I think Gamze is in between elementary and intermediate skill level. She seems to understand very well when she is listening to Elisa and she does have a wide range of vocabulary. She does make mistakes in how she uses her words and at times I cannot understand what she is saying at all. But when Elisa replies to clarify, she is quick to correct herself or try a different way of saying something. I think she would benefit most from being in an intermediate class.

For the speaking level, I selected intermediate for Gamze. Her ability to understand and answer all of Elise’s questions and use of a wide range of vocabulary led me to this conclusion. She can make mostly accurate sentences that are in the correct tense.

Based on the Speaking Level Guide, I felt that Gamze was at a pretty solid Intermediate level. She was willing to speak at length and had a wide enough vocabulary to do so. She could generally be understood despite errors.

I would rate Gamze as Elementary. I think her vocabulary is limited, and she has a hard time formulating complex sentences. She does do well comprehension wise. It seemed as though she understood every question that she was asked. This is why I would not rate her as a beginner. Some of her pronunciation made understanding her difficult.

I was torn between Elementary and Intermediate - and decided to put her in Elementary. Mostly because her grammatical errors were frequent and could have lead to misunderstandings (in a different context). But she is a very fluent speaker and can be generally understood (pronunciation wise). Depending on her motivation and her classmates in either course I might also consider putting her in intermediate with some one on one tutoring on the side.

I placed Gamze in Intermediate based on her ability to get her point across despite mispronunciations and grammatical errors. When reviewing the speaking level guide, I felt that there were some aspects that were even considered to be upper intermediate. Her use of words like "happy", "homeless", and "style" show a grasp of abstract terms that would certainly not equate to elementary level. I would put those types of terms in the 1. use of vocabulary in the upper intermediate criterion. Considering she took high school English, she already should have a basic understanding of reading and writing/gramar. She is considerably fluent and would do well in a class that challenged her rather than kept her mostly comfortable.

Since I filled out the form on my kindle, I cannot take a picture of both sides of the sheet at once. I circled the elementary speaking level on the speaking interview form.

I chose to place Gamze in the elementary speaking level because Gamze was able to speak on familiar topics, such as shopping, and she spoke in basic sentence structure. She used some subordinate clauses but there were pauses when she did so, making it a bit choppy. She had frequent grammar errors, but you could still understand what she was expressing. I had a hard time deciding between placing Gamze in intermediate and elementary level and think Gamze could progress to intermediate quickly, once she has a slightly better grasp on sentence structure and enough grammar to discuss topics at greater length.

I think she did very well and demonstrated an excellent level of understanding and inference, however I believe she falls into the intermediate category due to her grammatical inconsistencies and occasional pronunciation errors.
