After reading this I agree with Ben Ratliff about songs having a perfect moment because I believe all songs do hit a perfect moment where the crowd is speechless and can't believe the way they feel about what just happened. I feel like a lot of perfect moment for most artist happen when they are performing at a concert. The perfect moment I believe happens when an artist feelings and becomes the music, this is when the artist lets themselves go while performing the music. The piece of music that stood out to me about perfect moments would be Goodbye by Frank Sinatra, in the book it talks about how the song is about an out of the body confusion of being dumped and the emotion he is facing going through being dumped. When listening to this song, you can tell Frank poured his heart and soul into this song to connect with people going through this same heart-break. I bet when he was performing this live, he lost himself in this music and left the audience speechless. Throughout the song, the peak of the song is when he sings "Goodbye" and also the chorus is also part of the peak, which lets the listeners who are going through the same thing connect with the understanding that it is time to sat goodbye to your old love one and move on. Another song that is not associated with the reading that I believe is a best fit for this topic would be Purpose by Justin Bieber. The song is about how someone in his life gives him the purpose to do what he does. During one of Justin Bieber's concerts, Justin starts to get emotional during his song because he lets himself go. When performers cry and let themselves go into the music, it helps the audience feel what they are feeling which most of the time leaves the audience speechless.
