RDA - Ramp access, lifting device to get client onto horses. Carriage program. Inclusion programs. RDA promotes the learning of new skills, meeting new people, gaining confidence as an individual.
From learning how to take care of a horses needs, feeding, brushing/cleaning feet, saddling a horse. Some clients only do the brushing of horses, once they are confident they can move on to perhaps riding a horse - first led then on there own.
If they are not ready to ride a horse then there is the carriage program where they get to enjoy riding around, learning how to control a horses movements. RDA coaches teach the participants how to look after and clean the equipment for the horses and the carriages.
They also learn how to muck out yards and the arena, how to rug up a horse once there lesson is finished. In the summer clients can sometimes participate in the washing of the horses.
Coaches work one on one with a client or in a group. They try to always make it a fun experience. The clients learn a new skill, and get to practice each time they come. Once they have mastered it a new skill in the process of riding or care is added in.

http://www.rdasa.org.au/locations/mount-gambier

Supporting each other to make a positive all inclusive centre for our clients, volunteers, parents and caregivers.

Sunnybrae
Wandilo, via Mount Gambier
Ph: 0476 141 129
Email: rdamountgambier@hotmail.com

Weather Policy

Riding will be cancelled if the forecast temperature is 30 degrees or higher for the day.
