This article shares the story of a woman who survived sex trafficking as a child. I think this is so important in learning about sex and sexuality to also learn about the hard, dark side of it. In terms of sex trafficking, it is also important to remember that it is not just little girls (or boys) getting kidnapped and forced into the sex trade. Sex trafficking also includes families, becoming a generational issue that is passed down. This article is particularly important to me because I know someone who survived a similar, but much more horrific situation at the hands of her own family, justified by a crooked view of religion. Do you think that this issues is talked about enough in society? Or is it something that people are just uncomfortable with so it is not talked about?
