Last sunday I went to the theather to watch Rear window, 1954 Alfred Hitchcock movie that was screened two times during last month, it was the first film of a the Cine Colombia alternative calendar for this year that has Stanley Kubrick and Alfred Hitchcock movies. I was amazed by it, and I thought, why new movies aren´t like this? I guess is true when peolple say they where the cinema golden years.

In this Hitchcock masterpiece, a photojournalist, L.B. Jeffries(performed by james Stewart) is recluded to his apartment because of his broken leg, he spends much of time looking out the window, spying his neighbours, one day he realices that the neighbours wife who was homesick dissapear, and see her husband, Mr Thorwald getting out of the apartment many times that night. His nurse (Thelma Ritter) and his girlfriend (Grace Kelly) visit him regularly, during this time he tell them about the suspicious scenario where Thorwald killed his wife.

In it´s 115 minutes the film only uses one set, the set is all the neighbourhood, that can be seen from our protagonist apartment, it innovates the way of moving the camera as it where the googles Jeffries use to spy his neighbours, also not focusing one single thing at the time, it takes a complete view of the neighbourhood in wich you have to watch what´s really important.

I think the numbers explain it itself, having 100% on rotten tomatoes is not a simple thing, it´s clear that this is a peral of the golden cinema wich couldn´t be filmed by someone else than Hitchcock and no movie that had lately apeared in the big screen is similar to it.
