I really like these pictures because they keep it simple, but are also amazing in their use of different levels of exposure that make the central object fade into blue on the edges. On a kind of painting like this I think it's important to have some negative space and have some blue background because the background in cyanotypes are super important to make the focus point look faded.

I think that manipulating light is a key skill

I thought that the first test went well. Just needed to get the general grasp of cyanotype photography. I thought that the leaf itself could've been more white, although I don't really know how to control that. maybe some of the light got under the leaf.

I thought the leaf is a good object to do because it's easy to recognise the outlines and it easy to press down onto the paper.

I would probably leave out the paper in the sun for longer, and also think more about the composition rather than putting some wool and a leaf on the page randomly.

I'm surprised that the process was as simple as just putting a leaf on a paper and then leaving it the sun. Although I know that this was the pre-made paper and there a more steps to making it from scratch.
