I believe that it depends on the person who is learning the language and how often they are able to practice it. I think that children have an advantage because they absorb information so easily but that does not mean that adults will not be able to fully learn new languages.

I can count on one hand the number of people I know that are bilingual that started learning a second language after 15.
Question 2- I feel like learning a second language in early childhood definitely has its advantage. It depends on how they get to use the other languages and how often they use this language.

For example, their vocabulary to learn at one time won’t be as extensive as an adult’s vocabulary. However, an adult is more able to handle themselves when it comes to crucial situations, such as translating for someone because what they are having to learn is far more along in life than what a child is learning.
