create Portfolios, create a class page where they

have to maintain and edit/post comments (using google-

specific editing) pages. Teach them skills to take ownership of their learning and collect their own data through Portfolios

-Other topics include perhaps Vertical alignment with elementary schools

and Middle schools where students visit and teach lower level kids

At the moment, the four of us are interested in planning Year 1 of the plan, including PD opportunities, home WiFi surveying, BYOD marketing, credentialing pathways, possible shuffling/reallocation of supplementary devices, and transitioning from old devices.

Females are underrepresented in many of the science and technology classes.  What if we can generate more interest in STEM and Engineering among female students?  I would also like to help current students to better understand the field of engineering and potential careers.  Currently this is a work in progress that will likely mutate as time progresses.

Notes:

I would like to bring professional female engineers, female
UAH undergraduate engineering students, and current JCHS and BJHS female engineering students together to mentor 6-9^th grade female students during a full day of activities including speakers and hands-on projects.

Connecting the dots from high school, to work, or postsecondary education..............

Looking for those interested in creating a network of business/community partners to assist our students in the areas of career planning and postsecondary guidance.

Possibly having an office on campus where the partners are available to students throughout the school day "campus- based Chamber of Commerce"..

- increase content collaboration- content resource areas and group content teachers in the pods so that 2 or 3 teachers of same course or progression are located near each other

- Student leadership - revamp SGA to have a focus on leadership / character, possibly merge with Be The Change

- parent involvement- compile a list of parent PROs who would be resource people to speak, FaceTime, or provide resources

- character/ etiquette focus- videos, word of the week/ month. Take from many resources including Be The Change

- year long ACT/PLAN prep Bellringers. We would need every content to get the questions for their content and make Bellringers with answers to send out daily for every student. Focus on deficits in our PLAN data

- revamp homeroom- teachers become 4 yr mentors for the same kids. Possibly consolidate with one 2one so that the mentor teacher meets with struggling students during "homeroom" time. All teachers know when and where of tutoring opportunities to connect struggling students with help.

I would like us to foster an environment where students
collaborate and create real world projects and submit their ideas and products to businesses. Just like Nick D’Aloisio, one of Yahoo’s newest employees, a 17-year-old high school student in Britain. Nick D’Aloisio, a programming whiz who wasn’t even born when Yahoo was founded in 1994, sold his news-reading app, Summly, to the company for a sum
said to be in the tens of millions of dollars. Yahoo said it would incorporate his algorithmic invention, which takes long-form stories and shortens them for readers using smartphones. I am especially interested in the design and creation of apps by JCHS students.
