One that is accessible to all, and considers the needs of all learners. A multi-sensory space that considers more than just physical comfort, but also has auditory and visual needs taken into consideration. It would be a space that can be used collaboratively or independently. A space that inspires and challenges learners to inquire and explore. A space that can be flexible and moved. Combining the natural world with the physical, to combine the best of both worlds.

 

The social and cultural context of a child is taken into account. Through social interactions, children and their peers collaborate and co-create knowledge. The more we encourage children to engage in language, cultural, and outdoor activities, the more they will develop holistically. Those who acquire information by direct experience may explain the value they attribute to objects and situations. Teaching students to be aware of their surroundings and encouraging them to use all of their senses facilitates the formation of memories that may be stored in long-term memory, thereby boosting the significance and value of experiential learning. Physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development is enhanced when children have the opportunity to explore, co-construct meaning with their peers, solve real-world challenges, and form meaningful relationships.
