EX. someone’s dad shoplifts and they end up shoplifting one day too.

Mental health issues - one may not be in total control of their thoughts and actions.

Poverty - they believe they have no other way to survive other than to commit crime.

Prejudice - they may feel a strong hatred for a specific group and feel the need to hurt them.

Alienation: they may feel alienated and isolated from society and do not care about laws or feel the need to rebel against a society that “wronged” them.

Abuse of Power: they know they can get away with crime since they hold a powerful position in society (white collar crime, hollywood sexual abuse)

People commit crimes because they believe there is no other method around the situation. It’s committed with minimum thinking and is usually done for reasons related with Money, Relationship, Personal belongings and etc.
