The short stories were easy to consume and digest. The shifting focus from each vignette kept my attention. So yes, I do like the style of the vignettes.


Overall, my personal takeaway is positive. I can relate to many of the vignettes, from Esperanza's strange and sad experiences. Each story produced strong feelings from me. I was very pleased with this book and it surpassed my expectations repeatedly.
