The plan is the way the teacher prepares a class; it’s the methodology which will be used with time, the topics and contents to develop on time, taking a sequence of subjects, using didactics resources and technology tools for student has a better learning and so it can become in a successfully lesson plan for students and teachers, taking into account the stages of teaching and advices of pedagogues within teaching of English language. Richard 1998 suggests that lesson plans help the teacher think about the lesson in advance to “resolve problems and difficulties to provide, a structure for a lesson, to provide a “map” for the teacher to follow, and to provide a record of what has been taught” . (pag 103.)

Besides this there are some didactics helps such as:

A plan can help the teacher think about content, materials, sequencing timing and activities.

A plan is a log of what has been taught

A plan can help a substitute to smoothly take over a class went the teacher cannon teach.
c. Why is it important to plan?

Research has shown that student learning is correlated to teacher planning. Why do you think this might be the case? One major explanation is that when a plan is ready, teachers can focus on its implementation. When teachers do not have to think so much about what they need to do next, they are able to focus on other parts of the lesson. This is especially important in SL/FL teaching where a teacher not only has to concentrate on the content being taught and learner needs but also on the use of the second language as well. This concept relates to the idea of cognitive capacity and cognitive load. In short, when a plan is prepared the teachers cognitive load is less and they can pay more attention to other aspects of the learning process. by Olenka Bilash May 2009.

b. Do you think it is a good idea to strictly follow a lesson plan? Why?

If we use the lesson plan, the development of the class is easier and the students can comfortable in the classroom. But, I think we don’t need to strictly follow a lesson plan, I suggest taking into account the Planning Lesson of Linda Jensen, She suggests the Basic Principles of Lesson Plan:
1. A good lesson has a sense of coherence and flow.

2. A good lesson exhibits variety.

3. A good lesson is flexible.

She tells us about gain experience in the classroom and we need to follow some principles to do an excellent job with the process learning – teaching. Between this principles we have: Coherence (It’s not only activities and activities, the activities need to have a relationship between the aim and the activity), Variety (We need to use different resources in the class; we don’t need to follow a same pattern, because the students need to see innovation and something’s different to be attend in the development of the class) and flexible (We as a teacher have the opportunity to changes the activity if this doesn’t work like we want).

If we read the principle number 3, this allow us to be free for change our class, for use the innovation and creativity for strengthen the process learning - teaching.

A LESSON PLAN Is a teacher’s detailed description of the course of instruction for one class. A daily lesson plan is developed by a teacher to guide class instruction. Details will vary depending on the preference of the teacher, subject being covered, and the need and/or curiosity of students. There may be requirements mandated by the school system regarding the planA lesson plan is a teacher's plan for teaching a lesson. A lesson plan is a detailed guide for teaching a lesson. It's a step-by-step guide that outlines theteacher's objectives for what the students will accomplish that day.Melissa Kelly define a lesson plan is a framework and a road map, which each teacher will create using an individual style. A good lesson plan is one that sees the “big picture” but includes detailed information for each activity. It's a good idea to organize your lesson plan as a unit plan. Each unit plan will cover a particular topic, and may be broken down into daily plans. An effective unit plan will include the followingObjective(s): While easy to ignore, identifying objectives from the beginning will vastly simplify instruction and assessment Activities: The meat of your lesson plan will be the various activities you use to teach students what you want them to learn.Time estimates: Including a time estimate for each activity allows you to divide your unit plan into days and periods of time.Required materials: Spend some time writing down exactly what materials you need for each activity so that you will be better prepared for your lesson.Alternatives: It is always wise to plan ahead for absent students, especially if a large part of your plan is a simulation that can be hard to make up for those who miss it.Assessments: Decide in the beginning how you are going to assess your students to help focus your instruction on what the students actually need to learn. Unit plans are a good way of organizing your teaching. The beauty of putting together a unit plans is that you can go back and adjust activities as you get a better picture of the time needed for each day’s lessonReference: http://www.academia.edu/3690161/DEFINITION_OF_A_LESSON_PLAN
