Hello everyone,
My name is Amany Elaraby. I have been teaching English language learners for 12 years. I am originally from Egypt, I am married and i have 3 boys, yes ! all boys !! . They make me busy but very happy. i am very motivated to learn from all of you, i have been offered an ESL Coordinator job and that is the reason I decided to take this class to educate my self more about how to be a good Mentor and how to be effective as a leader. the pumpkin image makes me think of our role as teachers, and how we have to be a role model for our students who might struggle academically or emotionally so we can lead them to a better future.thank you for reading !

My name is Emily Welhaven. I am currently teaching first grade at a Catholic school. This is my seventh year teaching...all in first grade. I recently took a Franciscan leadership pilgrimage to Italy with leaders in the medical field and education field. I struggled to see myself as a leader outside of my classroom. I am taking this course to learn how to be an effective leader among my colleagues in education. The photo relates to my students and me in that, like the pumpkins and the gourds, we are all different.

My name is Stephanie Schei. I am a kindergarten teacher in a small town in west central minnesota. I actually teach kindergarten in the same classroom that I went to kindergarten in. I have been a mentor for new teachers in my district for the last four years and I am taking this course to improve my mentoring abilities and become a better mentor in the future. I am also taking this course to learn about ways to help improve my districts mentoring program. The pumpkin picture reminds me that I like things to run smoothly, but sometimes life throws you a curveball and things can get a little bumpy.

My name is Brian Duffy. I am in my 17th year of teaching. I currently serve as an administrative intern at Dayton Elementary for the Anoka-Hennepin school district. I was previously a Peer Evaluator for Q-Comp and before that, a music teacher. I am taking this course because a main focus of my job is to coach teachers, staff, and students and although I have some experience in this area, it is important to me that I continue to develop my skills so that I can be an effective leader for those whom I serve. I have two young boys, ages 6 & 4 and they keep me very busy. The picture of the pumpkins reminds me that all of our students are different, but also, that they all need care and nurturing to grow.
