Hi! My name is Lillianna but I go by Lilli for short. I was born and raised here in Spokane, by my mom who is also from Spokane, and my dad who was born and raised in Colombia. I work full time as a General Manager and am a dog mom of 3. When I am not working or tending to the doggies I like to read and play videos in my free time. I currently am a junior at EWU and am excited to work with you all and learn more in this course.

I have always wanted to pursue Education, even while I was in high school, due to my connections with my own teachers and the roles that they played in me becoming the person who I am today. However, the specifics have changed quite a few times over the years. Currently, I aim to teach Spanish, as well as ESL (English as a Second Language), at the secondary level.

Quite honestly, I don't know very much about the specifics of Special Education. I do, however, have experience with working with employees with intellectual disabilities, and accommodating their needs in the workplace. I'm eager to further my knowledge of special education and how it'll apply in the classroom with my students, and how I can use such knowledge in my day-to-day life as well.

I aspire to make a difference in the lives of my students just as my teachers did with me while growing up. It's kind of crazy to think about how much of an influence your educators can have on your life even to the point of inspiring you to follow in the same footsteps. I am excited to teach ESL specifically and help ELL students succeed in school and have a successful scholarly journey. ESL teachers played a big role in my dad's education and in his life in general when he moved to the United States and that is also something that has inspired me.
