Know: This week we learned about the Photoshop tools and we did it to some images that we got from the class folder pictures that we took from last week and it helped refresh my memory. the tool that helped me out the most i would say was the lasso tool as it helped get the shape. To make sure I was using this tool effectively I zoomed in and use the mines lasso tool to make sure I was going round the entire shape, this is a major improvement for me compared to my last use of the tool as I didn’t go around it properly. The reason I chose this tool is because Nike's main focal point is there brand symbol and I think it’s something that everyone recognise when they look at this shoe, so changing it would draw anyone to it. the tool that tried using a loot but didn't have much effect was the blur tool on as I wanted the audience to focus on a certain part of the image it more but I never seemed to find it to useful as it kept blurring out bits of the shoe that i tried doing and even after I changed the pixel size to a smaller number I still couldn’t avoid blurring it out. I think that i shouldn’t have used this tool unless I was using it on a background as I think it would have a bigger affect and also do less harm to what you are not trying to blur out.

Do: This week I did something that I'll probably do for most the images I Photoshop in the future which was to leave the background and the objects surrounding the focus point alone until i have learned how to use it more as I thought it didn't help in improve anything but also wasted time. I also changed Nike symbol on the shoe as the colour is different and I also done the same thing on the laces. I removed the tape on table by using the healing brush tool and went over it several times to make it blend in with colour of it's background. I also cropped the top of image as I thought it took up too much space and was wasted space when saving it in my storage.

compare: photography was the best this best this week in helping me grow better in my knowledge as I've found out light can give what your advertising a nice look too it and will help out when photo shopping it as well as you won't have to do much as the image already be decent. compared to design and image as finding images from the internet and putting them together on illustrator is a lot time consuming and i would not recommend against the photography way. however i did learn more tools form the illustrator as they were easy to understand compared to Photoshop as they are more complex.

Show: I showed my work onto showbie where I put up my evaluations for my comparison between pictures before and after I edited it. I made several contact sheets one for high key lighting, low key lighting and shutter speed and then had to annotate it onto showbie but you can't see it too well with the dark images behind them.

Improve: The improvement that I need to make to benefit me in more independent tasks would be get greater wide of knowledge for the tools as I happened to only be using 2 to 4 tools on this image and even in the previous Photoshop task I understood how to use none because my friend helped me out with the majority of the image.

Know: this week I learnt the fundamental techniques for aperture, shutter speed which can really change your image with just the slightest adjustment. I thought I wasn't capable of getting my images any better as the camera was always on auto when I was in level 2 media, so I already that I've improved if I was to get still shots or a video for final major project. for shutter speed we tried to get a slower film by lowering the ISO rating which makes the shutter stay open for longer to open at a particular aperture. In low light with slow film, the shutter may have to stay open for longer for the camera to be hand-held without noticeable camera shake.

Do: for this week I took several images of aperture with bright lights around to get a fair experiment. I did try doing it outside at first however the light kept changing leading are results being different then over peoples groups which then lead us to taking the experiment again but this time we did it in a room with bright lights. for the shutter speed we also had to this in a bright area as if was to put shutter speed too high it would be dark so we had to find the middle ground where the focus was good but also managed to make the main focus of image visible to the viewer. we did try some experiments with the iso however it didn't seem to have big effect as the environment was great for the iso.

compare: this week i found that moving image lessons this week were the most beneficial to my learning as it gave me idea on how to start my story if were to ever do one, as photography did help me with lighting . this story wouldn't take much effort to do either as it was a storyboard and it prevents you from wasting your time thinking of what to do for the next scene instead of just planning out on a piece of paper. the photography lessons where good for giving you ideas for making the best picture as i'm taking experiments to find out what i would like most and i think the reason that is, is because of how many ways you can represent that image which moving image was unable to do. there was good i found in photography that should stop me wasting too much time and that was a faster way to upload all my pictures onto one document and that was by doing a contact sheet as it was able to put all your pictures onto sheet instead of having to do it all manually which i found less time consuming.

Show: I showed my work through several work documents where I talked about what I thought when doing the shutter speed and aperture experiments.

Improve: I need to get out of my comfort zone more as I do things that wouldn't have done before so I should stop using auto on cameras to get a better idea of how to use the camera techniques I should do more experiment. for the aperture I should try and change the lighting to where the lighting is not too dark but not too bright as I want my viewer to be able see the picture. the I should try using the shutter speed different ways depending on how fast the environment is as it can effect the whole image. For the ISO I need to try figuring how to make it not as grainy however I do not feel confident in using it so I think I'll be leaving it alone for a while.

know:This week I learned new things about filming equipment and how it can be used such as the jib, slider and the hand held rig. These pieces of equipment are essential when trying to enhance parts of the image that a normal person may find boring. you should also make sure people in the group a comfortable doing thing as it may make them nervous/ embarrassed to do in anything and therefor hold the group back if they were to ever work together in the future. This week I took advice from other students if I was confused on how to introduce this piece of equipment and what certain things do.

Do: this week we made recordings, demonstrating how to use equipment for those that may not know how to use it. the pieces of equipment we had to talk about were called the slider, DSLR, the jib, hand held rig, tripod and the lighting. I demonstrated how to use two pieces of the equipment as I felt most confident talking about them in the group. some people that may already know about these things would most likely fall to sleep, so to make it more engaging with the students we made over the top as in, really enthusiastic. after are filming we then had to describe on word about where pieces of equipment was used with images and then we talked about it briefly using are own words or copy and pasting from another source.

compare: i will now know what camera equipment to choose based on it's pros and cons such like if i was to decide on what was best for shooting things fast i would say to use a hand held rig as it was easy to set up and this showed that i was able to work faster unlike design and image which won't help me with producing stuff fast as drawing things will only prepare me for the best possible angle I could take when filming stuff . in the design and image lesson i didn't find it beneficial to me in the future as we were just drawing things that couldn't help us in the work.

Show: I showed the drawing images we took onto design and image which are on are showbie where I have several one lined drawings of things that Richard told us to draw. I also added a cartoon drawing that I found off the internet.

Improve: the improvements I need to make when getting equipment is to storyboard it first as it gives me a brief idea on what piece of equipment I need first and also makes it less time consuming as you won't have to repeat the same shot several times. I also need to improve on my time to setup equipment as the jib took around 5 minutes in a group compared to are teacher who took around 1 or 2 minutes by themselves. I need to build my confidence a little bit more as I didn't want to take part in all of the shots for are moving image task.
