The pit bull terrier was bred in the early 1800s from bulldogs and terriers, and they were mostly used for bull baiting which is when a dog is used to fight a bull or a bear, one of the animals would fall from injuries fatigue or die. Soon after bull baiting began it was outlawed in Britain by the British House of Parliament. After bull baiting was outlawed the lower class invented ratting which in when 2 dogs would kill rats and the dog who killed the rat in the shortest time would win. Only 7 of the dogs passed the behavioral test and the 24 were going to be euthanized. A man named Rob Schneider took the rescue to court to have the 24 dogs reassessed. The dogs were later taken to rehabilitation facilities in florida in the summer. The rescue dogs profile pictures show the dogs to look shy yet full of joy. One of the dog trainers Deane says. “Some of them will jump in your lap and kiss you. Some are more frightened but still very sweet.” This shows that the pitbulls can still be trusting even though that they have always been neglected by humans that they still have the mindset to believe that humans can be good. He was unable to eat and was dehydrated and starved. The hyena was darted to have the snare removed.He received medication for his wounds.The wire cut the side of his jaw and back of his head.He has no energy and couldn’t swallow his food. The snare was in his jaw for an estimated 4-6 weeks.He was in horrendous pain and grew weaker and weaker.Maggots were in his hips, pelvic and, back creating another reason that he might not survive.He was safely left in a Zim Parks Area manager's office, to see if he would feel safe and recover. Volunteers dribbled water into his mouth. He was given milk, water and, liquidated meats.His wounds were sprayed. It took 3 weeks for the hyena, “Mr. Bones” to recover.
