It helps connect with people whom you don't particularly live close to. For example, if you were born in Vietnam and you moved to Canada, you would be able to use social media and connect with those people who are back in your hometown.

There are many resources on the internet than can further your learning; you can learn about topics in depth and expand your knowledge. Information is also very accessible when you use the internet.

For example, you can easily search up information using Google vs. going to the library to find a book. Being able to access different sources can help further one's learning, making one smarter.

Source: https://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2010/06/26/does-the-internet-make-you-smarter.aspx

We're able to access more information from a variety of platforms from a younger age. It's become much easier for us to be able to find information and keep up with world events than it ever has- we're exposed to news from all over the world as they happen. When François Hollande won the election in France, or when same sex marriage was legalized in America, we know the moment it happens. It's easier for us to further our own knowledge and learn about things that could have been inaccessible to us years ago.
Source:https://www.huffingtonpost.com/aj-agrawal/how-technology-has-made-o_b_10577380.html

Technology makes it really easy for us to access wrong information because of the information bias. Yes, it give us access, but are we really accessing the right information? The information found in books is more credible than what we can find online and that makes for bad information which in turn feeds us the wrong information. Tech is poisonous for our mind because we aren't feeding it anything whatsoever and with websites like essaytyper, it makes it so easy to completely slack off and not do any of the work ourselves. We think that technology is going to do all the work for us therefore we are slacking and are not learning anything new. We are only rewording what we read and not digesting what we see online or anywhere for that matter.

Technology enabled people to have access on any type of information on a community on internet. However, due to such easy access on information, and posting of information, there is such high chance that they are exposed to a false or biased information. For example, Wikipedia is a website that comes at the very top when anything is searched on google. However, Wikipedia is a website that posts information about every type of information. It seems good that anything would come up when it is searched, but it cannot be reliable because everyone has authority to modify information on the website, so there is such high chance of getting biased and false information because of this characteristics. In an article The Internet Makes Us Stupid and Here's Why by Kabir Sehgal, the author introduces a book, The Shallows: What the Internet is Doing to Our Brains, which was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize by Nicholas Carr, and in the book, he claims that the technology is inducing an intellectual decay in human brains and is proven by neuroscience, and explains how our brain takes an information, and how memories are stored in different ways. Therefore, it is even scientifically proven that technology makes humans stupider. Even when I tried to find an internet, I had to search up who wrote an article,, if the information on the article was true, weather if it is biased too much and etc., and if I have not done it, I would have likely chose an unreliable article. Lastly, in my opinion, technologies make humans lose their creativities. Creativity is also an identity of every individual. Humans born, learn how to do things, find out their own ways of doing things and improve as they live their life. However, humans do not need to go through these process, learning, improving, experiencing failures, trying again, improving, still faces a failure but improves and it goes on and on until we finally get to the point where we satisfy. However, technology nowadays, allow us to have access to the others' information, how they have done this type of work successfully, how they could have done a work without failure, and etc., so what we end up of getting is what others have done in the past. Without knowing why, we tend to look for how, which becomes a real problem where an individual faces a situation where they have to make a decision on themselves, and failure they face by making a wrong decision would come much more painful, because they have never experienced one in their life, which is a consequences of connectivity that technology allowed us to have. Therefore, I think technology makes us stupider.

Source: http://fortune.com/2016/02/03/nicholas-carr-internet/

With the evolution of the Internet, knowledge is quite literally at our fingertips. With only a few seconds, we can search up anything that anybody in the past would have to look through books for, or ask for second-hand information about within their community. Within minutes, people can learn how to fix a broken pipe, create art, and/or share their own knowledge and experiences to educate others. Instead of waiting for the bus that's always 15 minutes late, people can instead choose to be efficient about it and call the nearby Uber user for a drive to their workplace. People have even been able to learn new languages and understand others through technology, all for free. Technology is a constant process that anybody and everybody can enjoy. While yes, technology has its drawbacks, it is undeniable that it holds a great deal of knowledge that can educate anybody.

It has also made the quality of life easier, as new technology has improved the way we do things, such as performing simple everyday tasks. Collectively, technology has made us smarter, more capable and more productive. For example, if I
am writing an essay in English on a topic that I have limited information on, I would usually research online to look at similar topics and see different interpretations, in order to have new perspectives on the topic. This would be easier, and less time consuming than going to the library and reading multiple books in order to find the information you are searching for.

Essentially, I am going to say smarter but at the end of the day it depends upon the person. In my opinion, our lives are now more efficient, inexpensive, simpler, and faster since now we constantly have access to the world wide web. Technology makes us more knowledgable as it gives us a variety of information that we use and apply to our every day lives. Moreover, Technology allows people's words to be heard, and gives people a voice when needed. Technology is also a platform used for videos, images, and texts, allowing people to learn from others and/or put their thought/ideas out there for others on the web. For example, In terms of internet, it has made people “smarter” as they are able to research any number of topics in seconds or minutes that would have taken hours or days using the resources of an advanced research library. In terms of my own life. New technology has made learning much more fun. When I was growing, the only way I was able to learn was through textbooks and stories. On the other hand presently, my little cousins are now learning through educational games in their personal tablet through apps. Therefore kids are now becoming smarter and faster than ever before in human history. This is proven through United Nations Educational, Organization that states that exam results are dramatically climbing all around the world.

https://www.huffingtonpost.com/aj-agrawal/how-technology-has-made-o_b_10577380.html

They can research things that might've taken 5 or 8 books to find complete information on. Instead of waiting for the bus that's always 15 minutes late, people can instead choose to be efficient about it and call the nearby Über user for a drive to their workplace. People have even been able to learn new languages and understand others through technology, all for free. Technology is a constant process that anybody and everybody can enjoy. While yes, technology has its drawbacks, it is undeniable that it holds a great deal of knowledge that can educate anybody- an example being me. When researching for assignments or presentations, the Internet is a reliable piece of technology which aids me in gathering valid evidence and sources on what I am studying.
Source

Technology itself teaches us to change the way we think, learn and remember things, it also provides people with different styles of learning instead of the typical reading from a book. For example, the internet can provide stimulations and models. , these digital stimuli helps teachers further explain concepts to their students to better their understanding.

http://mashable.com/2010/11/22/technology-in-education/#bOylKjUIb5q3

This is because it is historically and scientifically proven that humans remember information more easily when we write it down then when we type it into a machine.

In my opinion technology makes you smarter. The amount of recourses you can use in order to search up information is astonishing. When one does not know the answer to a question, simply searching it allows you to learn other people's ideas who also posted, and facts from professionals who know what they are talking about. The connections technology allows people to have with one another increases through the different applications and websites available to everyone. Technology allows people's words to be heard, and gives people a voice when needed. Technology is also a platform used for videos, images, and texts, allowing people to learn from others and/or put their thought/ideas out there for others on the web. For example, a 6 year old can simply search what percentage of the population is female and get an answer in .2 seconds. “nearly two-thirds of Americans own a smartphone, with 19% relying on their smartphones for accessing information and staying connected to the world around them. And when it comes to researching facts on the Internet, we’re more inclined to think the best not only of the source, but of ourselves as well.” (https://www.techlicious.com/blog/does-technology-make-us-smart-or-dumb/)

Also, without technology nowadays people cannot recall many, many things (To-Do lists, E-mails and even memories in pictures and music) even in my everyday life as a student I cannot imagine how hard my education would have been if there was no technology (laptops, internet) to work on my assignments and homework.

The internet contains information about nearly everything in this world. How someone chooses to use the internet is on them. Although the internet contains a lot of false information, it also contains true and reliable information which can give you knowledge. The access it gives you to information enhances your intellect.
