He claims that this idea, of having a single note as the focal point while the music behind changed was a direct reflection of the artist. Ratliff compares it to a poem about the artist, describing "the world around him changing rapidly, while he says the same, a single note over and over". He asserts that the single note is stubborn, and it makes a point. It makes the audience rally listen, it draws them in and can make the music more alive. Although it can be a risk, because it can be difficult to listen to as the audience. They expect either resistance or play. It is its own phenomenon. The line says "Maybe if I could live hundred years that be real?" This is a reference to something he had said on his own song "Real", in which he discus his father saying real isn't living to 100, having money and respect, or killing people. Real is responsibility. "Real is taking care of your family. Real is God".
