She helped the poor in Calcutta and gave up everything she had to make others feel loved and more comfortable. Mother Teresa was sent to Calcutta and took her final vows after she worked to educate the impoverished girls to help them escape poverty. She had to lobby her way out of her covenant until she was able to leave and start her own missionary. She helped what she called the "poorest of the poor" in the slums of Calcutta. She was connected to her surroundings by bringing people off of the streets. Mother Teresa is an inspiring figure who leads me to be more selfless and aware of my surroundings.
