- Rules: Ensure that the tank is in good condition and agree on a plan for how we

should split the work, so we all share the responsibility equally.

- Feeding Schedule:

- Tank Maintenance:

• Weekly tank cleanings and water testing will be shared on a rotating schedule.

• If a group member is absent, another member will cover their task, and the absent

member must make up for it later.

• If a member consistently does not help, the issue will be discussed as a group, and the

teacher may be informed if needed.

- Tank Breakdown:

● All members are expected to help drain the tank, remove decorations, and clean

equipment.

● Work will be divided evenly so no one is left doing everything.

● If the tank must be drained early because water won’t balance, the same

expectation applies everyone must contribute fairly.

- Consequences:

● We will first discuss with the group and give a warning.

● We will then speak with the teacher about it and come to a solution.

- Common Name: Clown Pleco

- Scientific Name: Panaque Maccus

- Description: A small, armored catfish with distinctive black and orange or black

and yellow striped patterns. It has a suckermouth adapted for attaching to surfaces

and rasping on wood. Typically grows up to 3.5–4 inches (9–10 cm).

- Origin: Native to the Orinoco River basin in Venezuela, South America.

- Food Requirements: Primarily herbivorous; feeds on driftwood (needed for

digestion), algae, and sinking vegetable based wafers. They can also eat blanched

vegetables such as zucchini, cucumber, or spinach.

- Life Span: With proper care can last 10-12 years.

- Other Facts: Very peaceful and shy, often hiding during the day, and popular in

aquariums due to their small size compared to other plecos.

- Fish Compatibility: They are very compatible with a wide range and variety of

fish.

Water & Environment:

- Water Type: Freshwater

- Plants and things that exist in natural habitat: Prefers tanks with plenty of

driftwood, hiding caves, and live plants; appreciates shaded areas.

- Amount of Space Needed: Minimum 20 gallon tank for one; larger if housing

with other fish.

- Temperature of Water: 72–86°F (22–30°C), (pH 6.5–7.5).

- 09/05/25: We removed our gravel and put the filter under the water which we then put the gravel back in (Under Gravel filter). Our filter has green cable ties.

- 09/08/25: We filled up our tank with water so that we can connect our filters and chose another plant to add to our tank. When filled up we tested our filters and they worked properly.

- 09/09/25: We siphoned our tanks so that we can condition them and added ammo lock. We have to add 1 milliliter of conditioner per 5 gallons so we added 7.2 milliliters. and 5 milliliters of ammo lock per 5 gallons so we added 40 milliliters.

- 09/10/25: We tested our tanks and the results were - 7.6 pH level (Sky Blue Color), 7.8 high range pH (Orange Color), Ammonia 1ppm (Green), Nitrite 0ppm (Light Blue Color), Nitrate 0ppm (Yellow Color).

- 09/11/25: We tested our tanks again and got the results of 7.6 pH (Sky Blue Color), 7.6 High range pH (Orange-ish Color), Ammonia .25ppm (Yellow-Green Color), Nitrite 0ppm (Light Blue Color), Nitrate 0 ppm (Yellow Color). Because our Ammonia was high we added 40 milliliters of ammo lock to see our results tomorrow.

- 09/12/25: We tested our tanks again and got the results of, 7.0 pH level (Teal Color), 7.6 High range pH (Orange-ish Color), Ammonia .25ppm (Yellow-Green Color). Because our ammonia was high we added another 40 milliliters of ammo lock to let it sit over the weekend.

- 09/15/25: We tested our ammonia and got the results of 0ppm (Yellow Color).

- 09/16/25: We tested our ammonia and got the results of 0ppm (Yellow Color).

- 09/17/25: We tested our ammonia and got the results of 0ppm (Yellow Color).
