Robotics and Coding to Computer Science Lessons:
In IT lessons, especially in Coding, Educational Robotics is one of the major tools to teach algorithms, computational thinking and make student use a step by step problem solving method to solve from everyday to science problems, especially in maths.

Robotics and Coding can be combined in workshops together with maths to use math funtions and formulas.

Robotics Coding can be used in physic activities to study and simulate engineering, electronics, electricity, acceleration speed e.t.c. Can be combined with interdisciplinary projects like evironmental. For example to make a simulation of a full controlled crops field by robotics sensors and IoT technology.

Even in Art lessons robotics and coding can be combined to create art. See the above Scratch example of Demoscene, a Computer based art subculture of 80s.

While Educational Robotics and STEAM methodology eventually develops and is being adopted by more and more teachers many other ways will be discovered to use Coding, Edu robotics to all the educational subjects.

It is very useful for geometry issues. For example, I can enable students to learn by coding the coordinate system and the position of the point.

Coding/robotics can be used in class to get small children to understand math or other subjects better and get them more engaged in the subject. Another reason codig/robotics shold be learned and used in school is because the people that learnt robotics in school may develop a way for blind people to see again using robotics or help paralised people move again.

As an ELT teacher, various activities such as warm up activities, brainstorming activities etc. can be designed using coding tools in order to attract attention of students. Also I can connect language learning activities with scratch games. As for the Robotics, while trying to teach vocabulary, I can direct the robot to the right translation.

In the daily school lessons, it's important to use coding because the children can learn step by step to solve the daily problems, they can learn methods to solve the maths problems especially. Children train their thinking and manage to overcome certain problems. Algorithms are very important even in everyday life, because computer science also occupies a special place in our lives. It is a wonderful thing to solve problems more easily even through logical thinking.

I personally think that coding/robotics will be something really interesting for the students to learn, because you don't need to have special skills or knowledge in order to learn how to do it. I would love to see coding/robotics becoming an actual lesson because then people will be able to see the world in a different way!

Coding activities with educational robotics or digital simulation platfmorms is a very nice matter to construct STE(A)M interdisciplinary activities based on IBL teaching method. As a teacher I try to practice trans-disciplinary approaches. I decide the core scientific idea or ideas that I want to teach, I notice the crosscutting concepts that my students could approach according to their development and their interests and I decide the practices I follow (problem solving and inquiry based learning approaches). My main aim is to initiate my students in developing their computational thinking, communicating and collaborating.
