In between lines 28 through 30 the passage explains that during Scrooge's last plead the spirit had a change in heart and the spirit's (kind) hand had faltered and the spirit had collapsed and shrunk into a bedpost.

Scrooge's repeated questions help shape the spirit's decision of whether or not to let Scrooge turn his life around. At the ending of the paragraph the spirit withers away into the form of a bedpost that Scrooge is grasping. The spirit's hand falters in a way that makes me think that he is thinking whether or not to let Scrooge turn his life around or not. From this I can infer, after this occurrence Scrooge changed his ways and turned his life around.

The details that show the spirit is affected by the words scrooge is saying are that "the kind hand faltered". This happens right after Scrooge says "...'assure me that I yet may change these shadows you have shown me, by an altered life.'" I think these words touched the spirit's heart and that why his hand faltered. In my opinion these words could affect anybody with even the smallest bit of love and compassion in the heart.

I can show that in the text the spirit was affected by what Scrooge said because in the text it states "Holding up his hands in one last prayer to have his fate reversed, he saw alteration in the phantom's hood and dress. it shrunk, collapsed and dwindles into the bedpost." This shows the spirit was affected by his words because the spirit let him live and gave him a chance to make everything right and keep Christmas happy.

Since the spirit does not speak in the scene I believe that scrooge's words are actually worth something to the spirit because it is listening to him. The spirit just stands there and does nothing but point, however after a few minutes the hand gets kinder and starts to listen to him. I know this because on page CR35 it states "For the first time the kind hand faltered". And plus the ghost let him go so there is no way he just changed his mind so scrooge must have made him. For these reasons I know that scrooge's words affected the spirit.

I know this because in line 23 it states,"For the first time the kind hand faltered." It said the kind hand, proving that the spirit was affected in a positive way. At the end of the passage the spirit altered, shrunk, collapsed, and dwindled into Scrooge's bedpost. I can infer that the spirit was affected by what Scrooge says, because if he was not affected by what Scrooge said, Scrooge would not be safe and back in bed.

There are multiple details that prove/show that the spirit is affected by what Scrooge says. The spirit shows his thoughts throughout the story and opinions of Scrooge’s questions. The first piece of evidence is on line 11, when the spirit says. "Men's courses will foreshadow certain ends, to which if persevered in, they must lead." To me this is one of the most important saying the ghost says because, the spirit is talking about if Scrooge doesn't persevere to change and become a better person his life will forever continue to be miserable, until he does. Unless he changes his way and becomes a better man. Another piece in the story that shows the phantom is affected by what scrooge has to say is when Scrooge says, "I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year". Scrooge gets on his knees begging desperately how he can "Sponge away the writing on the stone". You can tell the spirit was affected by what Scrooge said because, as Scrooge was gripping to his hands. Scrooge woke up holding the bedpost as the "spirits" hand and gets his wish. Even though the story didn’t say that Scrooge really got his wish I believe that Scrooge woke up getting his wish because, the spirit saw how desperately Scrooge was asking and how he was determined to change his ways.

On line 23 it said "For the first time the kind hand faltered." Which I'm guessing that means that the ghost was feeling a change of heart toward Scrooge. Also it shows that the spirit was affected by what he said when he shrunk and disappeared after what he had said.

Immediately the fantom shrunk and his dress fell. Holding on to the fantoms dress, he woke up gripping a bed pole. In this way the I know that his his fate is reversed because he woke up not harmed.

I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future.",by this I can tell or see why the spirit had gone, he believes Scrooge will be a better man. The spirit probably thought Scrooge had learned his lesson if he will beg on his knees, and say, he will be a better man and “honor Christmas”, the spirit let him go and let him live his life. Scrooge has proven himself to all 3 spirits and gained their trust
