When people have that much power to do great things for our society, it feels wrong for them to not use. Why are they in that position if they don't have something to contribute? Do they really deserve to be there? People like Bill Gates and Warren Buffet have made massive contributions, but think about the rich who don't actually do anything. This being said, I don't think we should try to force the rich to help other people because it would be a disaster. Those are the people essentially running our government anyway so it would not work even if we wanted to.

Also I have a comment for everyone saying that people are poor because they "don't work hard enough" or are "lazy." It has been shown time and time again that poverty is very frequently passed down through generations. Poor parents often have poor kids. This is why I would argue that its not always people's fault that they are poor. Bad habits get passed down from parent to child, and good habits work a similar way. This is why it is incredibly difficult for some people to break out of this cycle, and to say that they are just lazy or don't work hard is a little out of place given that all of us grew up in a first world country and in a pretty wealthy area as well.
