         <description><![CDATA[<p>My biggest "take away" in reading the articles this week was learning the difference between burnout and compassion fatigue. Before learning the difference, I didn't know how to fully describe compassion fatigue. While everything can feel like burnout, the stress from empathizing with students is compassion fatigue. I now feel more confident in being able to label my emotions and feelings as a school counselor.  </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Self-care is a crucial aspect to enduring a career in school counseling because it allows us to refill our emotional bucket to continue helping others. Sometimes we are unaware that the work we are doing is affecting us emotionally and physically. Therefore, it is important to have a consistent self-care routine whether or not we are feeling in need of self-care. This will help us recharge before we get to the point of experiencing burnout, compassion fatigue, or secondhand depression.</p>]]></description>

         <title>Self-Care Strategies </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The most important strategy I am taking to ensure my well-being is journaling. Journaling will enable me to self-reflect and identify any patterns I'm making in my profession. It will also help me identify any coping mechanisms I'm taking or whether I need to improve my coping mechanisms. Journaling will also help me dump my feelings in written form to feel lighter and ready to tackle the next day.</p>]]></description>
