This TED talk emphasizes how Dyslexic people are more gifted than cursed. He starts out his TED talk how Dyslexics are capable to blend information into a narrative that forms a new way of understanding. He states that Dyslexia advances people in four different work areas which include entrepreneurship, architecture, the arts, and engineering. He gives staggering statistics about the depressing sides of Dyslexia when discussing prisoners, alcoholics, high school dropouts, etc. Despite Dyslexics having difficulty phonetically decoding and struggle with self, many Dyslexics have been very successful when they recognize and deal with their issue. Successful Dyslexics represent 40% of self made millionaires and 1/2 of NASA rocket scientists. He believes that he has to take frustrated Dyslexic children/ students and empower them to learn a certain way that will purposely make them successful.

Dyslexia is a misunderstood condition that affects many people throughout the world. It is considered a form of autism even though it just makes it difficult to read. However, people with Dyslexia show different symptoms: some have difficulty reading, writing, or both. It is a genetic disability that makes it hard to detect visual movement and results in auditory pathways that weaken some parts of the brain. People with Dyslexia also have weaker visual centers. For some Dyslexics, there is an auditory issue when pronouncing Phonemes. Today, there are new typefaces and fonts being created that will help Dyslexics read.

He believes that humans without Dyslexia take reading for advantage. There are words all around him, and reading is always a task he is faced with even though he has Dyslexia and has trouble with it. The documentary also shows how dreadful school can be for Dyslexic kids. Even though he struggled with reading and school activities, he strived in music and is very creative. He firmly believes that Dyslexia is not a curse and is a gift that makes him unique.

Dyslexia is caused by a phonological processing problem, meaning that people have trouble manipulating words. This video begins with a simulation of what it feels like to live with Dyslexia. The author gives an example text with many grammar mistakes, containing incorrect letters and misspelled words. He emphasizes the stereotypes of Dyslexia and says that it is common for people to assume that all people who are Dyslexic see letters crossed or words backwords. He says that people with Dyslexia see the same of people without it. Dyslexia affects over 1/5 people ranging from mild and profound and is genetic. People with Dyslexia's brains rely more on the right hemisphere and frontal lobe. This neurological mishap makes them have trouble reading and causes people to take a longer time when decoding. There are ways to help teach people with Dyslexia.

I learned that Dyslexia is a very common mental illness that affects people all across the world. It is a genetic disease that interferes with one's ability to read and comprehend material. More specifically, when one has Dyslexia, they will have trouble decoding information, read very slowly, have to reread text several times, struggle with coordination (tying shoes), struggle with word problems, have difficulty restating facts, struggle with using numbers, take a long time taking tests, and have trouble speaking. Having dyslexia

When a child has dyslexia, it is very challenging for them especially in school environments. When doing classwork and homework, it takes a great amount of time to get work done and accomplish small tasks. However, Dyslexia is not a curse on one's life, some believe that it is actually a gift. Since you are thinking with the right hemisphere of your brain, it is said that people with Dyslexia are often more creative. Many successful people with Dyslexia have been well known artists, engineers, entrepreneurs, architects, and actors. Although Dyslexia stays with you for many years, you can move past the hardship and find ways that help you learn. Once people find a way that makes understanding easier, people with Dyslexia can thrive in their community, school, and workplaces.

I find it interesting how there are new technologies and advanced teaching strategies to help teach Dyslectics. In the future, if there are more typefaces and fonts that can control Dyslexics from flipping words, we will have a more cohesive community that can all understand the same material regardless of how our brains work.

Children have many expectations before they start school. Some material that they must learn before school is writing their name, letters of the alphabet, and knowing their numbers before 20. When they get to school they learn the auditory process of words they write. Kids with dyslexia might have two problems. For some, it may be difficult to understand letter to sound relationship and accurately pronouncing words. You might be able to tell if your child has Dyslexia if they read very slowly, reread text several times, struggle with coordination (tying shoes), word problems, facts, and numbers, take a long time taking tests, and trouble speaking.

This video shows a Dyslexic boy being tested to clarify if he has the mental illness or not. His first test is Oral skills, blending in and removing sounds. The boy does fairly well on that portion on the test but does have some minor errors when responding to some questions. The second test is nonsense words which challenges the student to hear all of the sounds and words and effectively put them together. The boy did well on the test. The third test is rhyming. It seems as though the boy is able to identity what rhymes and does not rhyme with the exception of some words. His fourth test regards the identifying of first and last sounds of words and does well on the test. The fifth test is identifying colors in a rapid pace, he does well. It seems as though the boys results show how many Dyslexics show different symptoms whether it be phonological problems or automatic retrieval of word labels. When identifying objects for his sixth test, he has trouble saying them fast which means it could relate to his fluency problems. Reading, spelling, and background knowledge proved to be difficult for him. His goal is to highlight is strengths and weaknesses and to show what tools and methods need to be used for him for his weaknesses.
