In the quote "That stupid Phyllis Lopez, who is even dumber than Sylvia Saldivar, says she remembers the red sweater is hers." Rachel gives us context clues on how she feels about her class mates, by calling Phyllis stupid and Sylvia dumber this shows the relationship and feelings Rachel has for her classmates. Rachel almost has hatred to her classmates before and after they say anything about the jacket which makes Rachel angry.

In eleven the mood is frustrated while Rachels at school but turns to happy when Rachel thinks about when she gets home. Rachel doesn't like her classmates or her school environment,  In the quote "“Rachel,” Mrs. Price says. She says it like she’s getting mad. “You put that sweater on right now and no more nonsense.” 
“But it’s not –“
 “Now!” Mrs. Price says" it sets the mood to frustrated because Rachel knows the jackets not her's but no one believes her. 
  Later in the story we see that Rachel tries to change the setting to the future to think about when she gets home in the quote "Mama is making a cake for me for tonight, and when Papa comes home everybody will sing Happy birthday, happy birthday to you." the mood is set to happy, because she will be home and see her parent, her cake, and her presents.
