Impression --> Either the government must have had a lot of extra money to cover the massive costs and wanted to flaunt their wealth or they drastically reduced funding in other areas to cover the cost. From the video I would assume that the government sponsored such artists in their work.  They must have also been willing to sacrifice the resources and time to put these people together.

Organized fairly well, can create a good image on the people of China and the government. Designs and chemistry is phenomenal; it must've taken a lot of work. The count down is jaw dropping. This will go down as one of the most immaculate feats of human history. The people who planned this sure know how to go out with a flash. Sometimes things are done so perfectly, I doubt whether it's real. It looks like and animated movie at times. I have never seen anything like this.

For example to keep necks up right Chinese military use pins on their necks to keep it up right 
 My impression of it remains the same where the Chinese government took children away and put them through brutal training to win medals. All it shows me is the power of the government but it is still disgusting at the fact how the Chinese government may have executed people for protesting these olympics .

It gives a grand entrance into the worldwide competition, suitable for a meeting of [almost] all nations. The human labor costs and the equipment funds (i.e. fireworks, drums, clothing, etc.) must have been tremendous, but well worth it due to the beautiful display of choreography.

When watching this beautiful display, I am awed and a bit confused as to the cultural significance of their presentation. I wonder if the people playing the drums are part of some band that does these drum images, or if they were trained specifically for the Olympics. The level of precision is kind of creepy. I think the Chinese government cares a lot about what they are perceived as, and care that everyone works perfectly in the system. However, the people did not look scared and we're smiling, so I don't think the government was hurting them.
