Since labour is a FoP, the country moves closer to it's PPC, as it is maximising it's FoP's better.
- Foreign producers: Surplus decreases because they are limited to their sales depending on how much tariff they can pay.
- Allocation of resources globally: More inefficient because the other countries who are taxed must spend more than their factors of production to sell the good.

As you can see on the diagram below, the tariff imposed shifts the world supply curve upwards. This increases the domestic supply, allowing more producers to produce goods. This is beneficial in an economic slowdown when prices are so low that producers cannot compete with foreign producers. The increase in tariff opens the market up to more suppliers who can employ more people, thus creating a cycle as those employed people will have more disposable income. This increase in the circular flow of income allows the country to be pulled out of its economic slowdown.

Elimination of tariffs on imported crops negatively affects the domestic producers. As world price decreases from P1+T to P2, imports become cheaper and more demanded; therefore, quantity for imports increases from Q1-Q2 to Q3-Q4. Consumers are more willing and able to buy foreign products which leads to a decrease in domestic demand. Consequently, domestic producers reduce their supply since their products are less demanded and they will need to reduce costs...
